Best Practices for Online Discussions
This is a draft and will continue to be a “living document” as we explore online discussion groups. As the need arises, we may add to or adjust this list.
- No names on the class website!
- Stay on topic.
- Check your writing over for accuracy, clarity, and completion.
- Don’t criticize or judge other people or their ideas.
- Be polite when writing messages. Ask yourself “How will someone else interpret what I’m writing?”
- Be safe and have an adult around in case you need help. Ask for help if you need it.
- It’s ok to suggest, but not to police.
- If you wouldn’t say it in class, don’t say it online.
