Happy snow day, everyone! If you would like to write the story that you planned last night, feel free! Here are a few suggestions:
- Set a timer for 45 minutes since your goal is to create a story that can be fully developed, from beginning to end, in 45 minutes.
- If you tend to type slowly, consider writing it on paper first and then typing it afterwards. It may be a good idea to type into Microsoft Word first and then to paste your story into the website comment box.

Moving Castle
My mom was taking me to a museum. As I walked in I saw a sign that said “New Exhibit! See the Time Machine!” I looked into the exhibit to see a whole crowd of people. I pushed my way through the crowd and saw the time machine. Shaped like a dog sled, it had one velvet seat for a passenger. Complicated buttons and levers covered the control panel. A museum worker walked up to me and said, “Would you like to have a ride?” I was so excited. “Of course!” I shouted. I hopped on to the time machine. Suddenly the time machine was in front of a gigantic stone castle. A tall castle guard towered over the damaged time machine and me. “How did you get here?” the guard yelled. “Uhm, I used a time machine”. The guard gave me a funny look. “I am taking you to the king. Stop making things up!” I then remembered this was in the past and he thought I was making a time machine up because it hadn’t been invented yet.
Without warning, a huge green scaly dragon swooped out of the sky. Its red eyes stared straight at the castle. Its enormous claws lifted the castle off the foundation and the dragon flew away with it. “Nooo!” the guard cried. He ran to a small stable and came out with a horse. “To the dragon’s lair! The castle must be there!” As he headed for the mountains, a map of the kingdom and the dragon’s lair fell out of his pocket. I then had an idea.
I ran into the village and called out to the people of the kingdom who were on the streets, “Get out the horses from the stables, get all the ropes in the kingdom, I go to the dragon’s lair!” All the villagers tied the ropes to the horses’ saddles. Finally, I set off with all 999,999,999,999 horses following me to the dragon’s lair. Upon arriving at the dragon’s lair, I walked inside slowly with the horses and saw the castle. I tied the other ends of the ropes to the castle, knowing the dragon was asleep. “Pull!” I shouted to the horses. The horses pulled the castle back to where it belonged in a flash.
As a reward, the castle wizard gave me a new time machine. I used it to return back to the time right before I went to the museum. Now I had a time machine of my own!

It was a very snowy day and I was at school. Looking out the window made me very tired and I was thinking it would be ok to just go to sleep for 1 minute. So just for a minute I drifted off to sleep and as I woke up with my head on a cold wooden table. I sat up and looked at what I was wearing; a long floral dress and an apron. I was in a log house and covered in wood shavings. I reached into the pocket of my apron and pulled out a small pocket knife. That’s when I realized I was in a woodcarvers shop. I stood up and went outside to figure out what year it was. When I stepped outside everyone looks really sad I went up to a man who looked very gloomy, just walking down the street. I walked up to him and asked him what year we were in. He replied, “Did you just move here or do you not know what happened?” I shook my head at his reply and he told me we were in the year 1941 the year the Great Desperation ended.

One morning I woke up and I didn’t know where I was because I didn’t even have a house!At first I saw a time machine but I didn’t even know it was a time machine until I saw a cavemen , cavewomen, and DINOSAURS!!!! I screamed because there was a t-Rex staring down at me!!!! I sprinted away far away from the t-Rex. Who knew t-Rex’s are slow, it was coming to me like a turtle. It stepped on the time machine and know I can’t get home!!!!!:(

One day I was sitting on my couch and got a call saying I needed to stop the Great Depression. I ran outside and got in my RV. I hit the time travel button and floored it into the portal and bam I was in Time Square in 1928. I looked at my mirror and I had cops on my tail. I floored it and went right through the stop sign and swerved to avoid hitting cars. Then I thought these people probably have never seen a RV. Then the police started to try to pop the tires so I put my shields up and then I beamed myself to Washington DC and drove to the White House to try to tell the President to close all the banks in the U.S.A. because something was going to happen but he thought I was crazy and threw me out. So I disguised myself as a WPD officer to get into the Capitol. From there I was able to shut the Capitol down and then all the banks. After that I made a run for it. I got in my RV and floored it again. I had the police on my tail. As soon as I lost them I tried to go to time travel but the mechanism was broken. So I tried to fix it but couldn’t with the times technology so I bought a battery and jump started the mechanism and floored it through the portal and that’s how I traveled back in time and stopped the Great Depression.

“Grrmm” my belly was growling. I didn’t tell my mom I was going to be back from rollerskating until 9:00 so it couldn’t hurt to go to McDonald’s. As I was on my way there, I saw a wizard and he said “I will let you go back in time to whenever you want for just $5.00.” “OK” I gave him the money. He asked when and where I wanted to go. I said “To the California gold rush.” POOF! I zoomed back in time and I was standing next to a mine. I grabbed a flashlight and a pick axe and dropped into the mine. I started hitting the walls looking for treasure. Nothing. I walked further down and found an underground lake. “Wow” A creature crept up to me and said, “Precious” I then realized that he sent me back to Middle Earth during the time of the Hobbit. I just said, “Bla, bla…I read the book. I know you want to play a game. Let’s play hide and seek. If I win you let me get out of here, if you win you get to eat me. OK? You count to 200.” I slowly crept out of the mine. On my way out I saw Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit. I said, “There is an evil monster down there who wants to kill you.” “Do I know you?” Bilbo asked. I said, “I’ve read the books.” I sprinted out of the mine. All of the sudden a bunch of Centaurs jumped out and threw a net over me. “It looks like we just caught a human for lunch…yum!” They scooped up the net with me inside it. I tried to get out, but I couldn’t. Then I saw a contraption with a ton of buttons on it. With the last of my strength, I bit a rope in half and sprinted out of the net. I pushed every button on the machine and it made a ticking sound. “Oh no!” I thought it was a bomb. Suddenly, I was back in my time. Phew, it was a time machine. Then I decided never to trust a wizard and to just go to McDonald’s.

What am I doing in the jungle?I must of time traveled when I fell asleep watching curiouses George.then I saw a lady.I remembered her from somewhere .I read a book about her.It was Jane Goodall.I was wondering what year it was.when I saw the calendar it was June 16 1967.then Jane Goodall saw me.She was walking torwed me and said hi.Whats your name? My name is Grace Talaska. I was wondering what that little boy was doing in that cage.It was her son . She said that her son had to be in a cage, so the chimpanzees won’t attack him.Then suddenly I felt something harry on my back.It was black hair.Then the chimpanzee was climbing all over me.Sudenly all the chimpanzees started to jump all over me and kissing me with their wet mouths.I remembered that I had some bananas in my pocket.So I threw the bananas and all of them was fighting over the bananas.When I got back to Jane Goodall she was telling me all about her life and chimpanzee.While haveing some tea and cookies. Even though I new everything about her life because I read a book about her and a book report on her too.Anyway I knew everything about chimpanzees since I been studying them for a long time. Sudenly I herd something break it was my time travel machine.I thought I was staying hear for ever.To make it up since the chimpanzees broke my time travel machine.Jane Goodall let me feed the chimpanzees.It was really fun.Then I went and started to play with her son.It was awesome to play with her son in person.It was getting really dark and I had to sleep somewhere .So I slept over night at Jane Goodalls house.It was really fun sleeping in the rainforest because it was really peaceful hearing all the butiful sounds of the rainforest.When the sun was riseing I got up.Then Jane Goodall was serving up some breakfast.It was cool eat breakfast with her and her son.Then I got outside looking for some bananas , coconuts and other yummy fruits.I found a hollow tree.Then I saw a mettle handle.I slowly opened it.It was a time travel machine.I about to go in but I couldn’t without saying goodbye.So I won’t back to her house.So I said goodbye to Jane Goodall ,her son and all the chimpanzees.Jane Goodall said that I cold keep a chimpanzee .So I did.I named that chimpanzee Jannie after Jane Goodall.I got back into the tree went back home and went back to watching curious. Gorge with Jannie .I said that this was the best day ever aspeasly since I got a pet chimpanzee.It was fun playing with Jannie for ever.I will never forget this day for my whole life! 🙂 :-). 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

When I woke up this morning I saw something strange outside.I was so curious ,so I decided to go and see what it was .I could not believe it,it was a Time Traveling Machine.When I pressed the button the machine turned On.Suddenly I saw myself in Mars.I walked around and I saw something moving.When I went closer I saw a robot sent by NASSA.I started to follow the robot and we both were exploring the planet Mars.We both found some wet rocks.This means that in Mars must have been life.If the scientists prove that in Mars can be life ,than I would wish to build a better place where people can live in peace forever..
