I am so surprised that 14 said first impression because yes it is very important that you have friends that like you.its normal to wind up with a person you don’t like as partner in school activities or so.

I love the idea of meeting all those new people. Don’t think of them as strangers – maybe some of those RBS fourth graders (currently) are great friends whom you haven’t yet met! (I stole that idea from a commercial I once saw for Aruba.). First impressions are important, but don’t let that once issue stress you. I know you all well, and trust me: if you just be who you naturally are, you will make a stellar first impression!
2 – Any luck on getting me a loan of the pretzel machine for the summer??? 😉 (Does anyone know what “jk” stands for when you’re casually writing online?

I’m exited that I get to have band, I like things like that…another thing I am exited about is that they have 2 and a half computer labs!!!! (Of course xD)
I am nervous about teams, though…because they have recess together and lunch and everything!!! What if I don’t have good friends on my team (21 :D)
it is really weird and exiting though because I have tons of friends at Roaring Brook too!!
I am surprised that they have a cool scoreboard in the gymnasium and the varieties of instruments I can play for band!!
Next year seems pretty amazing (lol) and I am exited, anxious, nervous, afraid, ready, and on epic mode…. let’s just say a mixture of cloud 9 and underground -100000 [ XD ]

I am worried that I won’t have any friends in my class/team, and that the 6th graders will bully us because now that we are getting older, that kind of stuff happens more often (I know this from my mom.)

A few thoughts: Consider probability here. You are in a class with 24 kids now, and I think we said that there are 15 or 16 fifth grade classes, right? Your teachers work hard to make sure that you are in a class with a good teacher who you’ll have a good experience with, and we try to make sure that kids are placed with peers they know and are (hopefully) friends with. So it’s unlikely – very unlikely – that you’d be in a class without a friend, particularly because you have more friends in other classes this year with whom you may end up next year. It’s even more likely that you will have friends on your team since there are only three that you can be divided among. So I’m confident that you would be among friends.
19 – somehow I knew you’d be excited about science! The science teacher you will have next year is OUTSTANDING. Trust me on this.
8 – what reservations do you have about TBS? Is it just a hesitation to change schools, or something more specific? I suspect that you are a lot like me: When the current situation is working for you, you don’t welcome change very eagerly. I get that.

8 – Rereading your comment, I see you’re concerned about bullying. That’s a completely understandable concern. I’m curious… Everyone: I suspect that many of you share this concern. Am I right? That’s a real issue that will, sadly, become a bigger problem as you get older. I have a few thoughts to share, but before I weigh in (that means, share my ideas) I want to hear if this is a common concern and if you have any ideas about how to handle the concerns. Aaaaaaaaaand… GO. 😉

The thing I am most excited about is that in Thompson Brook you get to have a science lab. And in the lab we get to do real science things what real scientists do. Like working with chemical. This is just cool right!!!

the thing about Thompsan Brook I am most exited about is the awesome, EPIK, food they give us. THis i because people say it’s much better compared to what they have at Pine Grove. Also, when we visited the cafeteria, all the soft pretzels and stuff made my mouth water. 🙂

I can’t wait till Thompson Brook! I am mostly excited for the music program because I am playing 2 instruments. I also can’t wait to meet new friends from RBS. I actually know a lot of RBS students so I am glad to be in the same school as them now. I am not really worried about the teachers because a lot of my 5th grade friends say they are very nice. I am a little worried about 6th grade because I might get lost (the school is big!). I really can’t believe that there are around 12 teachers each grade! Wow! Think about PGS, where there are only about 4-6.
